Nursery Manager

Job Description

We require an experienced Manager who shares our vision and values to create the highest possible standard in childcare. We are looking for someone with proven experience in running an excellent organisation, who is full of creativity, passion and commitment. You will have a natural affinity with parent partnerships and be focused on delivering excellent standards of care and education. You will be an exceptional leader and be able to develop and inspire your future team to provide a warm, stimulating and safe environment for the children.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the development and smooth running of the nursery. It is an exciting time with expansion on the horizon and a real opportunity to put your stamp on the nursery in terms of the routine, processes and provisions Your responsibilities will be varied and far reaching including;

  • Achieving and maintaining the highest standards of care

  • Leading, motivating and managing the staff team effectively

  • Supporting the management of staff recruitment and retention

  • Ensure all policies are implemented and adhered to at all times

  • Develop and maintain our excellent partnerships with parents

  • Maintain excellent records of all office files and paperwork

Qualifications and experience

  • At least NNEB, CACHE level 3, NVQ level 3 or equivalent minimum. BA(Hons) or EYPS an advantage

  • Significant post-qualification experience and relevant supervisory experience

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work to multiple targets and deadlines

  • Talented administrator with an eye for detail, ensure all records are maintained and up to date at all times and nursery paperwork is completed and accurate

  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation

  • Significant experience working within a large setting and managing 15+ staff

  • Extensive knowledge and experience of delivering OFSTED standards

  • Excellent people management skills with the ability to lead and motivate a staff team, implement staff training and supervisions.

  • Passion and creativity for delivering outstanding childcare and learning

  • Experience with managing financial tasks including invoices, and accounting

Room Leader

Job Role: Room Leader

-To maintain the standards set out by Leapfrog Day Nursery in the room (Baby Room, Toddler Room, Preschool Room) under your leadership.

- To effectively manage the staff in your room to fulfil their obligations.

- To support the team members to have the specific knowledge and skills required to work effectively with children of this age.

- Formulate and operate a programme of activities that meet the individual needs and interests of children in your area in conjunction with other team members and the Manager.

- To follow the nursery safeguarding procedure to ensure all children are kept safe, well and secure and ensure all team members are able to do the same

- To keep records of your key children’s development (EYFS) and monitor all other children within your room.

- Support all team members with the early identification and intervention for children with possible special needs and give physical, emotional, intellectual guidance as appropriate

- Hold weekly room meetings and planning meetings to ensure the efficient running of your room.

- Feed into appraisals, target setting and nursery operations as deemed appropriate by the manager

- Support and motivate all staff to engage in good team working

-Ensure all record keeping is accurate and up-to-date within your designated area, including tracking, next steps and planning of all children in your room, accident forms, and any other forms/records required for the child’s welfare, learning and development

-Ensure room checks and outdoor checks are conducted in line with nursery procedures

- Liaise with and support parents and other family members

- Read, understand and adhere to all policies and procedures relevant to your role as deemed appropriate by the Manager. Support team members to do the same and ensure all policies and procedures are followed

- To ensure good standards of safety, hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times and be responsible for the health and safety standards appropriate for the needs of young children.

Nursery Practitioners - Level 2 and 3

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment for children

  • To plan and deliver age-appropriate activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum

  • To observe, assess and record children's development and progress

  • To build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues • To ensure the nursery is kept clean and tidy at all times

  • To work as part of a team to provide excellent care and education to children

  • To support children with their personal care needs as required

Monday – Friday - 30 -40 hours

Term Time hours available.

All interviews will be face to face then a trial if successful.

Requirements:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in childcare or equivalent

  • Experience working in a nursery setting

  • Knowledge of the EYFS curriculum • Excellent communication skills

  • A passion for working with children and supporting their development

  • A willingness to learn and develop new skills
